I've checked the gac, no office 2007, and i've even created a new project with the office 11 references and it compiles fine. I've uninstalled all Office 2007 objects from my system. I looked and I've cleared all office 2k7 from the system. I'm not able to do that because I need both versions of Office on my PC, i.e. Is there a workaround for this? I've seen on another forum that someone with a similar problem got round it by uninstalling Office2007. After doing this I checked the refence again and it was pointing to Version 12, even though I'd specifically pointed at Version 11. I then clicked the button, the COM tab and selected Excel 11. I did this by viewing the 'References' for the project and removing the reference. I then tried to change them back to point at Version 11. When I next opened my VS2005 project the references were changed automatically, not by me. My original VS2005 project worked fine until I installed Office2007. MICROSOFT OFFICE INTEROP EXCEL DLL VERSION 12.0.0.0 PCThe problem is that I don't want it to redirect to Version 12 because the PC on which the application is deployed and run, doesn't have Version 12. ![]() Version 11 is being redirected to Version 12. Thanks Feng, the problem is precisely as you state. I don't really want to have to uninstall Office2007 just to get my old application working again. Thanks to anyone who can help me out here. ![]() How can I force it use the version 11 rather than default to version 12 each time? Or do I have to deploy the version 12 dll on all my client machines even though they aren't using Office2007? The reference name reads 'Microsoft Excel 11.0 Object Library' but it seems to only want to use the version 12 dll. However, when I look at the path for the reference it's pointing toĬ:\WINDOWS\assembley\GAC\\12.0.0.\.dll I've manually made my project reference the Excel11 COM. I have both Office 2003 and Office 2007 on my development PC but my applications have to use 2003 because the client machines only have Office 2003. MICROSOFT OFFICE INTEROP EXCEL DLL VERSION 12.0.0.0 INSTALLI get an error message when I try to install the application advising that I need to have Version 12.0.0.0 installed in the GAC. When I deploy the application on the client PC that doesn't have Office2007 on it it doesn't work. Since installing Office 2007 on my development PC I've started having problems with applications that I've developed that use Excel11. ![]()
